Hey Bruce , welcome from sunny Dartmoor .
Always good to see a fellow Brit here !
Great site this with great people .
The pitting on your forks are most likely stone chips , more often than not caused by keeping up with sports bikes , not to worry unless they start affecting the seals !
As for the plastic ? Take her for a good run , the hotter the exhausts get the more brittle the burnt plastic will become and you will be able to pick it off . Just don't be tempted to use anything abrasive !
Enjoy the buzz .

Hi mate. It's just such a good looking and sounding thing. I absolutely love it and can't quite believe I'm the new owner of it! I'm also having a little difficulty getting into one of the panniers. It does work because the seller opened them both, but now the key turns and the button pushes down, but it won't open. Have you ever experienced this? Many thanks in advance

Welcome from Cape Cod. Very nice color combination. Oven cleaner works, protect everything else form the oven cleaner including the wheels. General purpose adhesive cleaner will work and not damage any other surfaces. It does take a little longer to remove melted plastic w/ adhesive remover. Most autoparts stores will have that. Remember you own the throttle dont let the bike tell you what to do. Start working out you face muscles as they are going to hurt from all the laughter and smiling while riding the beast.

I own the roadster , so can offer no advice regarding panniers , but the wealth of knowledge and help here will soon surround you with a warm gooey feeling !
The more you get used to your new baby the more of its hidden qualitys will become apparent to you . That beautiful big beast has a monster inside just waiting for release ! The great guys here have a wealth of knowledge in accessing it , but for now enjoy and learn her little traits and foibles !

Welcome Bruce from Maine USA, a very nice ride you have there, love the paint . Be patient with the plastic, you can let Goo remover set on it with a damp cloth, slightly warm is better, but not hot. It's available at auto stores, several different kinds available. Once it's off, it will take a while, you will have to polish the stain. Polishes removes minor scratches and stains, do so and it'll look new again.

Hoopla
