Greetings from sunny North Texas. To answer your question, no, you do not have to return it to your dealer to clear the wrench. Get an OBDLink LX (or MX) and download TuneECU to an android device. With those two items you can read the code yourself AND clear the wrench (once you've corrected the problem). If you aren't familiar with TuneECU there are a plethora of videos on Youtube to explain it's use and functions. Basically it's a Dealer Tool only you don't have to pay the price for one. If you have any questions about using it just ask, a very high percentage of the folks on this forum use it.
