New Metzler

Yeah what he said lol

IMFASTTOO would run most if not all of you into the ground simply based on his experience and skill. He is a practiced and elegant rider as well as a seasoned, former champion racer.

Tire mileage quotes are pretty much a waste of breath as roads are clearly much different in parts of Australia than they are around here. How else would one explain Richard's claim of less than half the mileage I get on my region's roads? BTW I have 170 rwhp, 163 ft lbs. torque, I often run around in lower gears, especially in the twisties, have zero chicken strips front or rear and basically ride the **** out of my Beast.

Also, B'stone does have a matching front tire for the 240 Exedra Max... it is, however a 130 and the combo is astronomically good.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Avon Cobra front and rear?

very good combo all around I ran three sets better all around than metzeler but switched over the bridgestone due to price point.

Since I'm new to the Rocket family I am watching these tire threads fairly closely. I am a bit surprised at the low mileage claims for the R3. Right now I can only base mileage claims from my 12 years of experience riding a 900 lb Yamaha Venture, mostly 2 up. When I first bought the Venture it had new 880's on it. Rear tire, a 150, lasted about 14k, front (150) about 19k. I replaced them with another set of Metz and at 9k the rear tire delaminated with a good portion of tire life left. I went with another set of 880's and at 12k replaced the rear. On my third set of 880's the rear delaminated once again. I went with Avon Venoms and averaged about 12-14k on the rear tires. Fronts lasted about 6k longer. I ended up an Avon fan. So, while I cant argue with long term R3 riders as they have quite a bit more experience then I do with a R3, I wonder: is it just the torque that wears out the rears so fast? My Tourer is at least 100 lbs lighter then my old Venture.

Glad we aint talking about oil.....

The Cobras are also available in a wide whitewall variant (but only for the R3 Touring with the 180 rear; same size tires as the Thunderbird LT for which those Cobras are OE fitment.)
