New ECU and no start?

I hate electrics, I hate Triumph, I hate my stupidity. Got tired of no start on the new ECM, downloaded the Hanso TOR tune and subsequently got the P1605 lockout code. I just reviewed the Triumph.net site and saw a discussion that all installed Triumph ECMs are locked when the motorcycle is released from the factory and must be unlocked by the dealer when set up. Also, all NEW ECMs are locked and will not function (to include loading tunes) until a dealer unlocks it. So now I'm off to the dealer to unlock the lockout code and unlock the ECM. Has anyone installed a new ECM and got the bike running without the dealer?

Try starting the bike and giving it the slightest hint of throttle as you do so, the tiiiiniest bit, just enough to crack the throttle blades. If it stays running, you've isolated your problem, it's a bad ISCV stepper

Nope. Mine started and ran with 1-2% throttle but died when left to idle. New ISCV (also TPS, MAP) inc resets etc made no difference.
Want to guess what the problem was?

Yeap. Why did you need a new ECU?

Positive battery cable lost contact with the battery post (loose and corroded). Engine sputtered for about 5-10 seconds then quit. Tried restart after cleaning and reattaching cable, ECM would only dump fuel into engine. Tried about everything I could think of but the ECM is telling the injectors to stay open at all times the battery is on and fuel system pressurized.

Next guess would be throttle cable adjustment or a bad kick stand switch.

I hope it's just this, frustrating as hell for sure!!

got to ask Why the Hell the Dealer did not tell you it had to be unlocked in First place!!! would have saved you a lot of frustration

I ordered the ECM from the parts guy and had it mailed to my house (along with some other needed parts). I did not think of talking to the service department about having it set up as I did not know about the dealer set up requirement. Boy I hope that cures my problem without going through the nut roll of replacing parts until it runs! You would think Triumph would have some kind of notice sent with the new ECU explaining the requirement.
