Need R tire; gotta remove rear wheel

The Darkside will overtake you

Such has been the case in our Congress. But, I digress.

Welcome to the darkside, from a former darksider.

Im trying out a pair of Avon Cobras for as long as they last. Running DynaBeads in them. I strongly recommed DynaBead for their constant rebalancing act and in my Cooper Zeon 2XS fatty it was as smooth as silk, for 18k. That 18,000 wasnt what Id hoped for but not totally unexpected. A favored tread design and a 600+ tread wear rating (UTCQ) will be on my return to the darkside. The Zeon was a 280 rating. Much better than a Metz but only twice as good for my launches; and, I wore the Metz down to the belts.

I do have a residual affect of having gone darkside. A woody when remembering a darkside launch off the line.

I just mounted a pair of D 251 Dunlops on my 2010 R3T. Wow, what a difference over the Metzlers. I don't know about the rain yet, but they are at least twice the tire Metzler offers. This bike handles like a dream. I would like to try Darkside someday, but for now, I would suggest a pair of these to anybody. $338.00 to the door for both from jakewilson.com. I was and am still highly impressed. JMTCW.

Got my darkside Altimax 205/60 mounted and balanced yesterday, $126. I'll be reinstalling on the beast this evening. I have a question about greasing, picked up a tube of Honda moly 60. Do you grease only the splines and axle, or do you remove the cover on the wheel and grease the rubbers too? Advice will be appreciated.

Remove the diff after undoing the lower shock mount and 4 nuts grease the shaft inside the swing arm tube and also the receiving splined cup in the front of the diff houseing putting the diff housing is said to be pain but I found no trouble I simplely put a new unused hacksaw blade in under front edge of the shaft and as soon as I lined up the alpine with drew the blade and pushed the diff in the rest of the way the whole operation from Start to Finnish was only 10 minutes and from what I have been told without pulling the whole swing arm assembly out you can't get to the other spline at the other end of the shaft

I couldn't get my 205/60/16 Perilli on my touring without removing both shocks, lifting swingwing arm up, and letting air out of tire. I couldn't get tire to fit because of black ring on inside of driveshaft. With doing all the above it was still very tight getting tire past ring. Once I got tire past ring it was easy and I am estatic about the performance of the Perilli car tire.

Only have to remove the hard bags and the left side muffler. The largest tyre that will fit is a 205/60/16 and you have to let the air out to get the tyre past the diff when you put it back together.
