Hi all,
Went to get my tires changed for the first time over the weekend.

I supplied the tires front and back with carbon copy metzlers as one shop quoted me 1k just to source the rear tire.
Saved several hundred shopping about myself.

Just for labour, i was charged $400 (aud) at a triumph service centre. This service centre was the only one out of 6 other bike shops i called that would actually do the job.
I'm feeling royaly humped.
Is this standard for a heavy cruiser like the R3T or should i search farther and wider for a contingency workshop?

Cheers

Triumph stealers are always going to bend you over, no matter what.
The four hunge that you've spent could have bought you a bike lift and tyre changer. Invest in your own tools and save in the labour costs, whilst knocking skin off your knuckles and gaining piece of mind that the jobs been done right.
I paid au$1050 for front and rear Avon's, about six months ago, shipped direct from importer via a good online tyre guy in Melbourne with a Mexican name. One of the easier tyres I've swapped on bikes.

Dude, I'm sorry but that is outrageous
$50 a tire if you take the bike to any normal bike shop here in the States. My local will do it for $40 for the front and the back of I have an oil change when in there. Includes mount and balance and stems
$500 to $600 for a set of tires at a store. So at most $700 for the job all in with a service like an oil change.
A grand should include a happy ending......

I'm confident to work on my DRZ but this big beast is a bit intimidating.
If i knew what a stitch up i was in for i might have reconsidered the prospect but space is at a premium in a 2 bedroom inner city apartment.
Keen to hear if anyone can reccomend a shop in sydney that will work on R3Ts and isnt a group of absolute rapists.
