I'm thinking of swapping the stock handlebars on my '11 Roadster to something narrower for easier lane splitting / filtering, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend specific bars / part #s to meet the following criteria:

(1) Similar ergonomics to stock bars, just narrower than the stock 35" (not looking for apes or drag bars)
(2) No need to replace cables and brake lines. Since the bars will be narrower, they'd probably need to be slightly taller to compensate.
(3) Adequate tank clearance at full tilt
(4) Preferably the bars would work with the stock risers

I'm thinking perhaps some H-D Sportster or Dyna bars might fit the bill, and I see @Joker has made such a swap. I was hoping to avoid trial and error, so I'd appreciate if someone can recommend a proven setup.

Chop saw should fix you right up - or try removing the bar end weights and see if that helps.

Cutting the stock bars is a simple, yet effective idea :) I just went to the garage to eyeball it, and that might just work. I'd be tempted to cut 2-3 inches from each end, the only potential concern might be the clutch cable becoming too long / difficult to route.

WOAH!
3" would be MAJOR!
At least go 1" first and then perhaps ½" after that.
Lowering bars to just enough to clear the tank would help as well.
If you try this, please let us know with PIX!

I've taken the 'barn door' screen off of mine, and also want to alter/replace the bars. IMO they are too wide and too high. I remember a while ago someone mentioned replacing the bars with Speed 3 fat bars. Anyone done this? Next step is to bring the foot pegs and controls back for a more streetfighter style.

Always ran FXDX bars on all my Harley's .. someone was running Speed Triple bars .. Ro6ert from Scandinavia I think it was.
