just to throw my 2 cents worth in the pot....I had the same thing about 2 years ago but have the relay kit fitted. I tried new battery, jump starting and a barrage of expletives but nothing worked.
My mechanic spent some time chasing wires and found a broken wire on the main battery lead but it was hidden under the plastic sheathe.
It cost $5.25 for the part and $160 to find the fault and fix it.
Moral of the story is get a volt metre and check as much as you can before heading off to the mechanic!!
