I don't have a M/C lift for changing my tires. I tried to lift the bike using my bike jack from the center, but was unable to keep the rear tire from staying on the ground, while the front rose into the air. So I ordered a front tire clamp off of a M/C repair ramp. I then welded the clamp Assembly to a 1/4" plate and bolted the plate to the floor. The bolds come out when your done so the plate can be stored. Using my floor jack at the rear of the oil pan. I can now jack up the rear end of the bike to remove the tire.

I had to install 1/2" eye hooks to secure hold down straps to so the bike would stay down in the front as I raised the rear tire. I have picturers if I can figure out how to post them.

Nice job Dennis.

Not being quite so handy, I just bought the fat girl next door a pizza and she sat on my front fender for a couple of hours.

I use a motorcycle lift jack from Harbor Freight [$69.00 US] It lifts front and rear no problem.

I have a Sears $100.00 lift jack with the two rubber padded lift legs. But, the front end of the bike lifts up when I lift. Where do you put the legs of your jack on the bike that you are able to lift both ends of the bike at the same time?

I found no place on the bike to lift from the rear safely. I'm not going to use the CAT box and bend my exhaust. The engine oil pan is the only flat surface that I can see to lift the bike with. One leg of the jack goes at the rear of the pan and one goes at the front. The width of the legs are not adjustable.

As the engine is mounted forward on the bike and the rear is heavier than the front, the rear stays down while the front lifts up. That is why I built the clamp to hold the front wheel down. Unlike Harry, I don't have a fat girl next door. I wish I did. She could wash my bike for me,,,,. :D My nearest neighbor is one mile away.
