I get between 27 and 33 with standard filter, cat delete and ToRs.
I keep saying I'll ride slowly to see how much I can get per gallon, but then I start the engine and forget all about it.
Oh well there's always next time.

Ha! That rings some bells :lol:

5 years I've had this bike (which is a record in itself) and I keep promising that just once, just one time, I will ride carefully to see what mpg I could achieve on one full tank. Haven't managed the self control yet :lol:

I got 6.6 litres per 100 klms the other day.Need a few more trips to get a better average
Thats about 36MPG US galls and 42MPG imp galls .
Thats taking it easy mainly ,no cat ,Jardines and stock filter.

I get approx 15Kms/litre taking it easy & 12km/L on a mixed run out with the lads ( cruising+ some lunacy :lol: )

Filled up both the black one and the red one yesterday.
We got 22.1 miles MPG.
Her on her mostly bone stock red one,
with darkside, cat bypass and TORS only mods.
Me with a GiPro, Dobeck, 3 K&N's, secondaries removed, and darkside.
We rode the exact same mileage, never getting over 120 MPH.
Mostly around 85 with a little in town driving to get to the highways.
We used my speedometer for mileage and I filled up both bikes to the same levels.
We ended up using within a 10th of a gallon of the same amount of fuel,
for the same ride,
her getting 1/10th of a gallon in a full tank better than me .
So essentially we're getting 22 MPG.
I can live with that.
If I was worried about MPG, I'd have gotten something that wouldn't run as good and has only 1 carb.(v-twink again)
Made my choice (twice :wink: ) I can live with it.

How many of your milage figures are corrected using an accurate speedometer (one adjusted by TB or some other chunk of computer stuff) and how many are based on mileage read from a stock speedo/odo?

Last I heard it was between 4% and 10% (depending on prod. year) that the speedo/odo was off.

Sorry, idk, I must have missed something. every Speedo/odo I've ever worked with had the speedo tied to the odo. If the speedo read fast, the odo read too many miles. It doesn't seem right that the odo would be accurate if the speedo was of by 7%. I would think that the odo would also be overstated by 7%. I guess that's a function of the computerized odo.

I read your post again. Let me see if I got this right. If you adjust the speedo downward by 7% using TB, you also adjust the odo downward by 7% and your fuel milage up by 2 mpg.

How close am I?

So..........How about just using a GPS for an accurate reading and forget the speedometer? Then the mileage is correct! Yea, I know, simple logic from a simple mind! :lol:

I put a 225X55 on my bike and a 225X50 on her bike and her tack reads higher than mine at the same speed,
it should because the tire is spinning faster to keep up right?
Not much higher, just enough to see the difference.
Anyway, I'm figuring I corrected the speed by running a 55,
sound right so far?
Mileage on our little adventure yesterday was figured off my bike,
since both of them were side by side the whole trip.
ok, I did LET her lead most of the time so I could watch her. :lol:
Point being her 50 and my 55 the only difference I could tell after the gas stop
was about a tenth of a mile on the odo,
and less than a 10th of a gallon difference in fuel consumption.

Not a "Brit", quite right, indubitably, and all of that. Just a pure breed "American" mutt. LOL

But if your interested, my stock 07 classic tourer gets 31 to 35 mpg combination driving (warm-up idling, city, and highway together).

Filled up yesterday, 164 miles on 5 gallons of gas.

Highway is 36 to 40 mpg with a speed range of (55 to 125 mph). I use 89 octane local driving and 91 octane on the road.

I use mostly 40 weight oil, with a taste of 15w-50. OCI's are 3000 to 4000 miles.

What can I say, my last bike was 08 Sprint St. I miss her in a bad way.

Put a sixth gear on the ole' R3, no objections here. High performance cars with the same size engine or close has (6) gears.

Gas mileage has to improve some. My Sprint ST was 50 MPG with local driving, and not to slow either.
