Michelin Commander II update

the goldwing guys are getting extreme mileage on some called battlax

Read my post in this thread,and the pics, the battlax was a terrible tire, at least for.me.

Has any of youse R3T riders tried out the Dunlop Elite 3 in 180/70R16?
I ran a couple on my big Kaw V2K and they were the best tires I ran out of the 26 I have put on that machine.
They were hard to mount and seal to the large rear V2K wheel, which called for a 200 series tire or I'd have run nothing other for a rear tire.

Finally changed my front tire out after 14800 miles. Bridgestone Exedra Max held up great but this time I mounted a Michelin Commander II 130/90/16 to match the rear. It's about 1/4 inch narrower but diameter is the same. Seems to handle great. Feels lighter at slow turns.

Funny - when I had that 130 on mine it looked real puny!
Perhaps because of the 17" v. 16" wheel.

I have ordered a exedra Max front 150x80x16 as the Avon cobra was on back order and I didn,t want to cut the fitting to fine before running it in for RDU. the guy at the tyre shop said a lot of the big cruiser riders were using the Exedra with good results 12000k plus, we will see

Won't be a Max, Ken.... they don't make 'em........the "normal" Excedra hasn't had a very good rap on here.....I got a Cobra last week outa Stinkme overnight.....

Yep its a Excedra Max 150x80x16 front fitted today , We will see what we will see, the Metzler front lasted 9000K and still had I calculate (I do have a tyre depth Gauge) another 1000 k left on it if I can get that out of the Excedra I will be happy, old mate at the tyre shop has had good reports from cruiser riders on this tyre.
