Maggie valley June 2019

Speaking of meeting early -- the missus and I will be leaving from Chantilly, VA morning of Tuesday 18 June. We expect to split the 530 miles give or take in two days, for a leisurely time - open to suggestions.

Right now, I'm planning to head to Tazewell, VA and run Rt VA-16 Back of the Dragon to Marion, VA (enjoy-the-scenery pace, mind you).

After that, would be back to I-81, I-26, I-40, and on into Maggie Valley on Wednesday.

@Boog @Navigator

Where do you live Paul? I'm wondering how we could meet up for the ride to MV.

We're riding Cherohala Skyway on the way to Dragon from TN side Thursday morning.

Huumm? I'll wait and see how it all plays out. I plan to be in MV Tuesday afternoon come haile or high water. I'm sure someone's loud pipes will wake me up to go have breakfast come Wednesday morning.
Six days of biking all day. :cool:, mabe 1/2 days :ninja:

Half will drop out by the time it gets here.

We have to have our dreams.

That's why we have Rockets -- most of us -- thoughts of what we might do with them, who we might meet - propell us all the time we're not riding.

And then life happens.

And some of us (speaking for myself) are just slow learners -- and fortunate to be here to see how smarter people approach life.

We made it to Mt Airy. We made it to Fancy Gap. Good times all. And we missed a few, even when we said we were going. It was fun dreaming.

I have two cousins - one finished the sixth grade, thought she knew all she needed - at 14 married a 17-yo. Her sister thought that looked good, and married at 13. Sad lives all around. That was in Georgia, my friend.
