We will probably be there on Wensday

I'm planning on heading out early morning on the 19th. Needless to say bike will be in prime condition. Rider well maybe not but anyhow it is only 861 miles. According to goggle that is 12 HRS and 34 MIN. ride time. Reservations made for Friday through Sunday. Going to try to get the room for Thursday but if not i can survive a night in the parking lot no big deal. Not proud or shy. Going to do it in a straight shot. No detours or bar stops. Just a good solid run. Plan on riding like there is no tomorrow. Show up hungry and tired but will make a stop for beer when we get in the neighborhood. Really getting excited about it. Not much for being a social rider kind of like going my own way.

We (me,T&tribal-2bikes) are riding FL to GA on Wednesday 19th.

If all goes as planned & weather cooperates,
we'll be about 3 hours from Deals Gap, Wednesday night and will be @ Deals Gap between noon & 1pm Thursday.

Then ride Dragon & head to Maggie Valley.

Somewhere in the past history of this thread, some people expressed an interest in meeting up at Deals Gap on Thursday.. between noon & 1pm... (Again..weather has to be dry Thursday or we go directly to Maggie Valley)

I would like to know IF anyone is, at this point, serious about meeting @ gap?

Because we are fluid with our plans & they could change last minute.

But if we have a definite "rendezvous" with others, we'll definitely plan to be there.

@Ogre we (BillB and Laurel) are going to be in MV Wednesday afternoon. I am planning on hitting the gap on Thursday. Rode the dragon several times but ain't had the Rocket on it yet.

Of course the situation is always in a state of flux and subject to get all fluxed up occasionally.

Speaking of meeting early -- the missus and I will be leaving from Chantilly, VA morning of Tuesday 18 June. We expect to split the 530 miles give or take in two days, for a leisurely time - open to suggestions.

Right now, I'm planning to head to Tazewell, VA and run Rt VA-16 Back of the Dragon to Marion, VA (enjoy-the-scenery pace, mind you).

After that, would be back to I-81, I-26, I-40, and on into Maggie Valley on Wednesday.

We're riding Cherohala Skyway on the way to Dragon from TN side Thursday morning.
