Maggie valley June 2019

Come on down and we'll find out just make sure u have ur rain suit:D:D:D
You must have been riding a lot in the last week.:p We have had way to much rain lately. It was dry today but had to turn around once due to flooded roads.:(

Usually there is a big ride on Saturday with as many bikes as possible. Earlier in the week( we are getting there Wed.) other rides just kinda spring up on their own.

IE if we were talking during breakfast and you asked what's the grand plan ? I would say that I was heading for the Dragon and Skyway before the weekend traffic. Someone else might say clingmans dome. The next might say the BRP to mount Mitchell . Then just fall in with whichever sounds good to you.

Of course the situation is usually in a state of flux and liable to get all fluxed up occasionally :D
Sounds like a plan.
Been doing some research on the area but noting is better than experience. Normally I prefer to ride alone.
But with this group riding together on Saturday should be a hoot. A bunch of R3's together should sound pretty mean.

I like to ride in smaller groups. It is easier to keep track of all the riders , safer and more easy to manage. Four to six bikes is my ideal but every now and again a big gaggle is fun.

If you are here for the first time then you may want to ride the named famous roads just to have done it but if your are a return customer then why not try and find something a little less traveled by the masses. It does take a bit of planning to pull a nice ride off considering the stops for food, restrooms and social time. If to may miles are attempted in the loop it could get to a chore to get it done. If it is to little a day is wasted.

Some people want the curviest road to challenge them and others would rather loaf along on a more open scenic route. Do you like to use fifth gear? Want to get a little speed? are you looking for a little spirited ride or do you need to relax a while? A person needs to decide what they want out of the day of riding other than social time.

One other thing to consider in this group. In the evening there is an enjoyment of libations, ect.:D I have no problem with this type of adult entertainment even though I do not join in but it might affect the ride scheduling. What time do you like to get out for the day? Up to late and party to hard might require that you rest and recover more in the morning. You all be safe.;)

All good points.
Truth is I am a morning person so plan on heading out earlier rather than later after a good breakfast our cooking team. Hate to waste day light.

The last time I was down riding around Cherokee and the Area, we found a route called the Rattler, 209. Is this the type of short rides the group takes ?
