Hi all. New to the forum, looking to get back on a triumph (had a 2011 Bonnie I shoulda never sold!). Looking at a 2005 with 38,000 mi r3 at a local non triumph dealer. Anything I should be looking for when I go look at it and hopefully ride it tomorrow? Here's a link to the bike--
I have no idea, haven't been to see it in person yet. Is there anyway to to tell? I'm assuming this dealer will know nothing as they're not a Triumph dealer.
9 yo bike. Not a chance... best advice would be to buy as later model as you can afford 2009 onwards. The older bikes can also be good but its a bit of a lottery if the upgrades have not been done.
Me personally I would skip on a 2005. Many problems possible or could be a sweet ride. Too iffy for my $7000. For a few bucks more you can get a little newer. Be patient and shop it.
My 2005 Rocket has way over 60000 miles on it and all trouble free the bike has never let me down, if you can afford it go with a later model but do not think they are trouble free just as much problems with the later models than with the original true early Rockets.(exc the BSA)
Before anyone chips in go with the red colour it is a well known fact they are faster it must be true for I have posted it online
