I apologise for the 13 yr old "website" which I cannot stop. I disagree with the 30000 miles thing. These engine are quite strong. Ask Ruzzle how many kms he has on his now. I think he did 60000kms BEFORE he put a blower on it and must have done at least 25000kms since. One of my customers did a 185hp bike about 8 yrs ago and that has been belted for years and sold and flogged by the 2nd owner since with no issues.

Dear Mr. "tin shed" Lush,
May I inquire the ball park amount you receive for your "piston and cam" job?

I sent an email to the guy who done all the work on my bike (Dave) and asked him what would be the next stage for a few more hp. I am guessing it would be head work. Will see what he comes back with and what the cost versus benefits are. Would like about another 20 to 40hp maybe :)
I Have a spare head (or Two) if you want to sent one away to have done - then it would be less down time away from the saddle. Although they are Silver Not Black...:(

Thanks, will keep it in mind if I go that path. I did get an approximate for the parts and with Labour I wouldn't see any change from $5,000 for another 20hp. The first few are much cheaper.

Your reputation precedes you sir so I knew there was more going on than the website showed. I questioned my web navigation skills first. There some that still hold their breathes on the s3 forum they whisper your name like in a good campfire story. do you have proven grinds with dyno charts real or estimated that help customers understand what we want? Drop in cams are just part of getting good power I understand headwork, compression, squish all things I know little about except everything works together for a high performance engine. I love roll on power and want more I don't want to sacrifice any power under 2k to let torque continue to build thru redline.

So what is it that stops the Rocket motor from safely spinning to 8000 RPM? Is it the valve springs or something to do with the the buckets/shims?

Yes you need a cam to make power at those rpms
springs strong enough not to allow bounce
Shim under bucket give a larger lobe bearing area, & will not spit shims out.

IDK, I think Carpenter does pretty good, a little higher in the rpm band, but continues up past 8000 rpm. Have odd problem here of sometimes being able to load pics, sometimes not.
WE build engines to suit the owners so we can move the powerband to their liking BUT if you want to win races like most do we will give you the power where you need it to kick ass

WE have spun Rocket engines as high as 10,000 rpm and made over 500 rwhp

Try again, weird, some days this site won't let me load pics other days, same pic, no problem. IDK what the problem is, I use the upload file button, upload pic from my computer, says 100% attached, nothing there when I preview or post. Does this site no longer host pics looks like insert pic requires a URL, a link from a hosting site?
