The hardest part for me after routing the cable to where it needed to go was that it was about an inch too short, so getting the waterproof boot over the cable while trying to get enough of the cable out from behind the metalwork needed three hands. PITA. But if your cable has enough length you'll be done in 20 minutes.

Once you fish it out, you need to route it back in and down and then you're just pulling the boot over it and connecting it to the socket and screwing it all together according to the instructions.

I installed this a while back and am using it to plug mt battery tender in. I'm planning to use it with heated clothing come the winter. I tapped the front accessory plug to power my Carplay unit.

Finished the install today - was fairly straightforward. Finding the connector took the longest

Putting the protective boot - I flipped the boot inside out and that made it super easy to install and then flipped it the right way. The whole process took about 15 ish minutes.

I installed mine a couple of weeks ago. As @dd14x said flipping the boot inside out with some silicone grease made slipping that on less difficult. All the pics I have seen show it with the hinge on the rear but since all components freely rotate it doesn't matter as long as the drain hole on the back side is at the bottom. There is no need to remove the shrinkwrap on the plug, just punch the connector blades through.

I've just done this install too, but just couldn't pull out enough cable - it was a good 35-40mm short. So, I disconnected the dipstick holder/oil filler by removing the one mounting screw to the top right of it, prized it up just enough, and moved the cable to the other side of the oil filler tube which then made it long enough !

I also put the flap hinge on the left so that wind pressure couldn't force rain in (which we seem to get a lot of in the UK these days). Oh well, at least with global warming, your house is getting nearer the beach

Hi, just received my new Rocket 3 Storm. Looking to install the aux power supply. Managed to loosen left side panel (2 screws oil filler and the top push in/out cover holder, HOWEVER, i cant get the bottom "holder" to let go! Is it a straight pull out or vertical lift required to release?? The top holder was very tight requiring some push from behind (inside beside battery box)

Hi, just received my new Rocket 3 Storm. Looking to install the aux power supply. Managed to loosen left side panel (2 screws oil filler and the top push in/out cover holder, HOWEVER, i cant get the bottom "holder" to let go! Is it a straight pull out or vertical lift required to release?? The top holder was very tight requiring some push from behind (inside beside battery box)

It has a round push-pin and a rectangle receptable for a slotted push-pin that has a rubber grommet in it. As they are different angles, when you pull the upper pin out it puts the lower one at an odd angle and you sort of have to move it back towards the bike from memory and pull the panel up and away. With the tight rubber grommet it takes some doing and you think you are going to break it but it lets go.

Thank you. **** tight alright! Bit of brute force required . I had a bit of tap ware lube which I applied to the grommets for ease of removal.
