OK - To adapt JW-SPEAKERS - Get thee a set of rings like these
I went for Harley ones
(iirc Headlamp Trim Ring-69623-99A) http://www.harley-davidson.com/app-content/service/isheets/-J01601.PDF
as:
1) Cheaper.
2) come with rubber anti-vibe gasket.
You cut back the inner edge (the bit that rests on the lens front) by about 12mm/1/2". I have an end mill and used a diamond coated cutting disc - but I'm sure with a steady hand and a dremmel it's possible.
Remove old ring and glass - push Speaker in against thin metal locating plate (square it up!) - fit new rings over - and Robert's your Aunty's live-in lover.
With CEE-Bailey glass protectors on as well.
As a plus - I think they look more streamlined too. But Function came before form. And (importantly for me) reversible.
