Keyless Ignition Mod HOW TO WITH PICS

Those devices may switch 15A, but I think that you are still better using external relays (x3) using my diode latching circuit to execute this mod.
Once you use relays, the required current to switch is only about 150mA.

I am confused I know absolutely nothing about wiring... I was stranded by a faulty switch and had to replace with a toggle switch to get back on the road just trying to add a bit of security back to the bike.... Is the switch I just order going to give me trouble or will it work ok..... I just want to Ride..........

the remote will work. what he means is you really don't need one rated that high to turn on the relay. also, the 3 relay setup is better to use rather than the single relay in the original post.

Help??

Ok gang what do you do with the orange wire that you did not cut? My ign switch went out and I will not pay someone $560 to put a new one in. I have it wired other than the orange wire. Help

did you wire it up with a single relay or the three relay setup?

single relay

Then you leave it alone. btw, there are problems wiring it up with a single relay. If you look at page 4 post #34 of this thread you will see what I'm talking about.

The diagram on post #48 on page 5 is how I wired mine up.

there is also a simplified version that works like the original post but uses the three relays posted here:

The three relay setup keeps everything wired like the ignition switch but uses relays instead.

The only problems are the parking lites and the possibility of blowing main fuse instead of one of the other 2. I will change it when I do the winter maint. run with one for now thanks

Installing Alarm Kit for Keyless Ignition

In order to make the ignition system redundant and reliable before go out for touring, I wanted keyless ignition. of course I also feel the inconvenience with less space between windshield. However, as I have little experience with wiring work, instead of making keyless wiring as you have shown. I chose to buy alarm kit and use it for ignition mod.
This is what I purchased.

Now it's still sitting in my garage because I do not know which wire to cut and install. It will be great if any of you can show me what to do...
Thanks,
