Don't know. I'll have to ask my mouthpiece about that. The pre-filters should work under the top. A very small hole to accomodate the stud that will be in the bottom of the top. The tops will have a milled ring on the underside that locates on the filter top to keep it aligned.
No problem. I dream about this stuff. Better than counting sheep.
The post, if you will, will be blind drilled and tapped into the cover, then 273 threadlocked. the tops will be 0.250" thick, with whatever design I finalize ball miled into the top side. It's actually a blind stainless stud.
The tops will secure the outercovers to the filter.
First the lift aid for the hydraulic jack crowd. I have all the steel and laser cut components now.
****, back-burnerd again. lol
Whatever logo you go with, consider a style that would work with only one showing. I'm working on a cut out design that will probably only expose one or maybe two filters completely. I want to keep the claw so that it leaves some for my leg to rest against and as a cover for a wind/rain shield. I also like the way the front is cut now because it allows for the stock overflow tank to be covered nicely.
My plan is to buy a carbon fiber partial claw and add the three K&N's.
My ?: What are my K&N air filter options do I have with this set up other than the RU2780 (the one's that Flip sells)?
What I would like is to find a similar filter like the RU2780, but with the Xstreme top.
I would like to just ues the RU2780's and just be done with it, but the tops of them needs somthing on them to dress them up, who makes covers or what would work?
Actually, because I deal with K&N as a Direct from the Factory dealer, I can get any filter you want and that includes all automotive cold air intakes at substantial discount because there is no distributor involved. You eliminate the distributor and their markup and the price is more reasonable.
I'm always open to special order filters but you have to send me an e-mail at sales@flipmeisters.com with your requirements. I have, in the past, ordered and delivered many special application filters. The listed on the website filters are the most popular but by no means all the filters I handle. I handle them all.
Typically, turnaround on special order filters is 10 days domestic and 14 on overseas.

Been wondering that myself. Noticed that Flip said he was thinking 'E' 'F' 'I' for the tops but said he'd look for suggestions. What about:
1 4 0ci. (could then look at other options for the oil tank embellisher) or III III III . I also like HF's idea for the Triumph triangle. Both these could go on 1, 2 or 3 pods
