Just got dynoed, 130 hp does not impress me

If you go to the dragstrip, don't worry so much about trying to get a mega launch. Just launch like you are taking off from a stop sign really fast. Work on big launch later. Houston has a good dragstrip so you have me curious as to what this thing can do with your mods. If one goes the Jardines/filters/tune route to begin with it isn't much more expensive than other routes.

At the risk of asking a mundane question, I'm curious what your fuel mileage is when/if you can manage to ride it in a sane way.

Yeah, that launch can be really frightening if you try to do it like a pro, don't even try to do a clutch drop under high RPM. It's very difficult to get far enough forward on these bikes to hold the front end down and the time savings isn't that important on them anyway. Timing the light properly will save you more time than a scary launch.

Just get out there and leave like you would on the street, it's a blast just to be there and race. Running in the 11's is effortless for an R3 and will turn heads since hopped up Harley's do well in the 12's and 13's.

the bike gets ridden in a sane way about 99% of the time. Mileage is about 34 MPG but I really don't care about the mileage. If she's thirsty, I fill her up. Ocassionally, you've got to turn her loose. What a blast. Like I said before, there is no comparison between the sway she runs now and when stock. Good to know it's there when needed or wanted.lol

Hey Frank its a good thing you do not spank her hard and have a stock clutch that might slip some. I just removed my clutch basket to change it out for the New MTC Billet basket. and the back plate is worn/damaged like Frocket's was on the Rocket 3 Technology site. I will be posting pictures of mine in a little while. I was lucky as it would have most likely been worse had I not modified the lock up. I think with no slippage at all like the lock up presents damage will be amplified and happen in a shorter duration:eek:

Thanks for the info on the clutch. I thought Triumph strengthend the clutch assembly on the Roadster. Need to see what is involved with beefing it up. Thanks again, but you know I have to rack it once in awhile.lol
Later and thanks again.

There is no mention of the uprated clutch or driveshaft in the Roadster Supplement to the service manual . I'm not sure if I have ever seen it in writing but only mentioned in the Kevin Carmichael track video. Does anyone know for sure?

I bet their upgrade is the newer style lifter piece and the springs they put on the Touring and in all the upgrade kits. I doubt if the back of the clutch basket has been changed since the 06 change. Below is what happens after repeated hard torque hit and I have seen this on engines without blowers, Like Frockets beast. After enough damage occurs the the casted bosses rip out of the basket and it explodes takinh the oil scavengerpump shaft and chain drive out, locking up the the front of the crank gear inducing stress to the crank shaf which will snap later on down the road Like Par Larson's

There are some of these monsters out there with a lot more power than mine. Anybody else having that problem? Got me worried.
And just when I wanted to start practicing launching this bike.
Thought I was through spending money on it for a while.
lol
Laterand thanks again for the input.

Frank you can see Frockets basket on the Rocket 3 Technology site he has a NA motor in his infact he also started a new thread called into the belly of the beast as he blew 4th gear in his. As for not riding as hard I think we all start that way until we get acustom to the power then we naturally reach for more. Of course some of us are raven lunatics (thats me:D)

I'd like to add Frank that I have been thrashing my bike hard and its got over 50,000 miles on it with over 20,000 on the blower so I do not think you will have to worry for a long time if any.

I am amazed at my mileage. I just guessed at the 34 number. I just filled up and I got 45.75 MPG. I had 238 on the trip meter and I put in 5.2 gallons. I couldn't believe it. I just reset everything again to double check and it looks like that is right. I have over 235 miles on it and it still says I have 41 miles left on the gage. Going to fill up next ride and recheck it. That is probably right since I have been filling up sooner and never put more that 3.5 gallons in. ****ing amazing.
