Just got dynoed, 130 hp does not impress me

cats gone. got tors. they have no cat.
cat underneath still if it is there. still debated.

That's the one I'm talking about. I don't have any solid proof that there is a third cat under the bike, but my opinion is that if it looks like a cat and restricts like a cat, cut the freaking cat out! Doesn't it look just like the cat on pre 2010 bikes? It just has a notch in it to clear the ABS box. If I were you, I'd get the Staintune crossover/cat eliminator, install and dyno again. That's one of the last pieces of the Roadster that is different from the pre 2010 bikes that are making more power. It's possible that the tune may be slightly different too. Does anyone know if the ECU is changed at all between 2009 and 2010? Also, has anyone tried the new power commander 5 that just came out?

On a Tune-boy thread the guys were talking about something Wayne said while checking a Roaster on the dyno for a Tune-boy program. It was about how Triumph arrived at their higher 2010 HP/Torque numbers and his findings while testing on the dyno. If I remember right, he speculated that they used different gears for each number, and it makes perfect sense too. 4th gave higher HP results and 5th higher Torque (could have been the other way around), so they set up the ECU software to exploit that difference and advertised increased power for 2010. That was the only time I heard anyone talking about it, but it's a solid theory and answers a lot of questions. Otherwise just changing the exhaust to achieve the increase doesn't hold water with me. That could be the only real difference between the '09 and '10, has anyone heard any more on the subject?

will get back to you on the cat, but regarding the PC5 there is no such for the Roadster or any other rockets.
or has just been released but the dynojet website is not updated? I am gladly wrong if so..

several articles in motorcycle magazines have proven that the Roadster does not have a single extra rwhp compared to earlier years.
if the Roadster has more HP than it's on the crank and it is without exhausts...?

btw the factory BHP is on the crank, not after 4th or 5th gear anyway?

Here is my dyno, almost 142hp. Have staintune exhaust, no cat, removed secondarys, I use pods and tuneboy. See the difference just with the different air intake from stock under the seat, 11hp.

yeah that's right, but you don't have a Roadster do you?
I got friends with Rockets haveing 148-152 RWHP dynoed.

I think the staintune makes a lot more difference than the air intake.

we with Roadsters are struggling with poor aftermarket parts and lack of knowledge whether there is a triple cat undernath the bike or not....

That piece of **** under the bike is a restrictive joke. I cut mine up. No cats, just strupid air chambers with small pipes that are crimped on the ends.

I just redyno'd my Roadster with the new staintune crossover and picked up another 8+RWHP and 3 more Torque.
With my current mods of Staintune freeflowing crossover, TOR's, triple k & N's with ATS mounted in top of #2 filter, O2 sensor removed and plugged, and Tuneboy with a modified version of Matty's tune done by Wayne at Tuneboy, I'm showing 143.03 RWHP, 148.95 Torque and 154mph with the rev limiter set at 6300 RPM.
What is more impressive is the Max torque comes in at 3200 rpm and holds steady to 5000 before starting to taper off. That is a much straighter curve than before. This a difference I can feel.
I'm convinced the preds or any new freeer flowing header would give another 10 hp easily. All in all, I'm happy with the results and will be heading to the hill country to ring her out next weekend.
I'm also sure I can get some more out of the current readings with some more dyno time but it was getting late and we had to finish up sooner than I wanted.

It's the same bike ..... ABS, dual exhaust and a new pet name doesn't make it something it's not. 2007's and 2008's are a little different than 2005/6's. 2009's have differences from 2008, 2010's are variants on the same model. The same debate went on with prior models about the dumb can under the bike, it was the first thing that I scrapped (along with the exhaust) and debate was moot. Once you strip the bike down to basics and build it back up again it's going to put out the same power as older bikes, and no more.
Frank found a way around those little differences with the cross over and software, everything else is same-same as the prior years mods. Information and parts come from owners and sites like this, I certainly didn't find my alterations in a book or from Triumph. The tech at my dealer never heard of any of these modifications until he saw my bike, I found them all right here and just used a different combination. The answers are out there, just don't expect them to be labeled "Roadster".

That pretty well sums it up. Other than the base tune for the Tuneboy setup, I've been pouring over the sites for info. From the people who know, it all points to the same mods that work. Great starting place and then the quest goes on. My filters are 3/4 inch taller than the ones they hide under the BC. no doubt they'll help a little if I get around to opening up the headers.
Same errors I made on the Bonnie. For what I've got in the exhaust, could have almost paid for the Preds. I should have went on and took a sdt. Money a little tight with the wife and worried about excessive heat. Oh well.
My thanks to the people here and on the other site for the info to help direct me this far.
BTW, the K & N's are ideal to mount the ATS in the top so you don't effect any flow and still get an accurite reading. Just use a 3/8 sandding drum and your dremel and route out a hole the size of the sensor behind the retaining barb. The rubber is thick enough on top to act just like the original grommet. Real solid installation.
Be carefull when you splice in the extra wire to reach the location. You don't want to make it too short and have to do it again.lol Yea , boy do I know that.lol

Frank, do you have any pictures of the cut-up can-under-bike?
if you already posted, just point me to the thread!
I think that I am up to date with your posts, but I haven't found the pics of the can you cut. would be good info to see what triumph invented...
