The designer/builders of these bikes have an expressed philosophy that best of motorcycling is riding small bikes like these, that one better feels the road and is more in touch with the bike.

The friend who I rode to the Arctic Circle with, he on a 1000cc GS Adventure, parked and bought a new Honda 250cc dual sport. I rode it and the thing's a hoot

There is a lot to be said for that train of thought. There is no way I'd take an R3 down some of the roads I travelled in the Alps and certainly in the lanes around my mum's (where I grew up and learned the skills one does to stay alive) I was fastest on the 500's than the 850/1000's. I felt more in touch with things.

Not ridden anything ( that I can remember ) under 500 since 1979. A test ride on a Benelli 254 does not count. I think a 250 might be a bit too small, but ........................... I'd try anything really. If I was going to start off-roading - then I'd go smaller but I have never really ridden off road and tbh have no real interest to start. I would like to try a decent Electric bike.

The bike itself is stupid idea. 250cc bike with bicycle frame, japanese engine made in china and completely fake identity. There is nothing special on this bike except the looks. Travesty show, if you want. No way I would spend 1$ on this thing.

If you want vintage bike, buy one.

If you want 250cc Honda to have fun, get CRF250.

Yeah I'm reminded everyday, but still use one for convenience. Handy "on" the bike

Hell, I can get a decent used Ducati Diavel for $7-$8k and that is one hell of a bike.

Not so much for traveling comfort . . .
The Roadster is the best for both worlds I've found . . . so far.

Eliminates the problem of cross draw while riding...tho I never had to, I can draw with the left.

I know that one of @laraza mates does pretty reasonable trips on a Diavel. I admit however to NOT knowing the state of his bottom - Nor see I any reason to enquire further.

There is of course the baby Diavel

I was blessed with being a lefty.
Although I suffered through grade school ruler slapping of my hand in efforts to force me to be right handed!
The old days . . . heck, the desks we used had holes in the upper right corner for holding ink bottles!
Being a lefty also worked well for riding motor!

Ink wells in the RH corner...still had those here in good old Blighty until 1978. Admittedly, the teachers had got the new 'metric' rulers that were a metre long. They used to wake you up when 'slapped' on the desk and shattered in a million pieces. Fond memories
