Janus really does have quite the nice line up of reproduction retro bikes. It really is too bad about the Chinese engine. But of course, it could be good quality made to Janus' specifications. I"m reminded that a local riding friend was ordering one last year. I'd never heard of them until he sent me the link to their website.
Exactly why I decided against the MASH bikes (which are a similar engine) and the R-Enfield singles. They'd be fine on English/Spanish lanes too - but not on faster thoroughfares.
If btw it is the same lump as the MASH - it's near bulletproof.
Urban Hipsters are buying more bikes than the old-fowgies - so I can see the logic.
Depends where! - I had to ride the R3 in "Smog Alert with Speed Nazis" central Madrid yesterday. Frankly a ruddy electric scooter would have been more fun.
As said depends where you are riding, around a busy town, tight streets, even those who look for MPG then it would beat the Rocket hands down, now wide open roads long sweeping bends cheeeeeeep petrol ,like showing off your balls then the Rocket wins hands down.
