AS far as the break in goes, they (the salesperson) said 700-1000 miles. I had an appointment this Friday to get the service done, and some pipes installed. I have only had the bike 20 days.

Mine don't sound like that! Was it like that when you took possession of it? If you have run it like that for 3 weeks it can't be that bad but I would trailer it to the dealer too. Sound like you have no oil in the crank case. I would like to hear the follow up on this one.

Update. So, I was oh so close to catastrophe, but it turned out to be a simple fix. The chain guide bolt, backed out, completely, and sank harmlessly to the bottom of the oil pan. The crazy rapping that was heard was the guide being yanked back and forth by the chain. The chain was being pulled around by just a few teeth, but held on. There was no damage to anything except the affected parts. Now, I am thinking that it was off kilter from day one. Holy f$%k this thing is fast and furious.

Good news indeed but keep good paper work just in-case something happens later on that can be connected to the problem.
