Installing TORS and tune

Uhh no sir

Buy the ones from Bill!
You NEED them, it's a good price and Bill is a stand up fellow!
Gut the plastic duct work under your tank and add space for tools (or secret stash) where the old air filter was.
Get thee to a GOOD tuner who knows Triumph and Tune ECU.
Then you will be set for some Real Rock N' Roll!!!

Better yet put on the TORs, have Bill ship the K&Ns up here to me, ride up here and
I shall help you do it. Then we'll go to my guru tuner, Nels Byersdorf, and for $200 you will have a boner maker!

Hi Jim,

Would you like to buy a set of 3 with the fancy rain covers for $95 plus shipping ?

I think there are some better than triumph TORs factory tunes on here somewhere. I loaded one into my friends 3013 Roadster when he put on TORs.

Bill.

PM sent Bill
Thanks!

and here I thought this was gonna be a simple install :D
Sooo if I install the pipes here and ride the bike all that way, is that a problem?

will installing Bills Triple filter require trimming the Bear Claw?

Unless you are actually making other changes, mate, even minor ones such as filters, and removing secondaries, the TORS tune would be all you need. I'd pop the bike into a dealer if it was me and have them load it. Shouldn't cost much. If however you're doing anything else you might want to go the Tune ECU route, but I get the feeling you'd rather keep things simple. I've always had just the TORS tune in my bike and it ran perfect for me - although I did connect a Dobeck to add a bit more fuel when I started making other changes. I thought I'd give the tuning caper a go when I got the CES headers and currently have a 'custom' tune loaded which actually has made it run worse  I'll be changing back to the stock TORS tune as soon as I get the chance ie as soon as I can get someone to do it for me (yes, I like it simple too ;)).

Putting on the tors and throwing the tune in is about an hours worth of work (I know caus I'm useless as tits on a boar when it comes to wrenches and that's about how long it took me). Yes you'll need a cable for the TuneECU (there are links on the TuneECU for potential ordering points; some guys have even gotten them off amazon though). It takes about 15 minutes to download the program. The cable plugs right into the serial connector (located near your fuse box). Hanso hooked me up with a good tune, but I'm on an 07 classic (no good for you :( ) Watch the 9 minute YouTube video on TuneECU (just search triumph tuneecu). Changing Tunes takes about 20 minutes total (save old tune, load new tune, run 12 min idle).

Keeping it simple sounds good to me :)

I wouldnt mind getting the triple filters from Bill as long as I dont need to trim the bearclaw

If I go with the triple filters will the Triumph tune still work?

or is it Tune ECU time?

Thanks

You'll need something. I bought a Dobeck from Flip and it gave me the results I needed and performance I wanted. Tune ECU is more or less free and would seem to be a more versatile way to go. Plenty of success stories and a few horror stories though, albeit mostly temporary. I prefer the 'plug and play' approach but I'm pretty sure the trade off is that I have no guarantee of optimum performance. You'll find lots of help with Tune ECU on here provided you're prepared to read the manual and take the plunge.
