I didn't know they were filming me.........

Holy Cow must be a long downhill stretch and must a huge top gear chain ring to still be able to pedal at those speeds

We're not known for hills around here, but there is one, and cyclists are known to reach 50 mph on it where I will not exceed 40. So it does happen.

Of course, there are stories of wrecks with folks popping the tires from the heat generated by rim brakes, because there is a sharp bend near the bottom.

I was impressed more with the rider's ability to ride the fog line with only a few inches of paved shoulder!

Yea had to be pushin a 54x11 :notworthy:

Back In the day (not that long ago snigger snigger:whitstling:) early Nineties, when I raced Mtn Bikes I used to race a rare then Cannondale hardtail with only a Girvin Flexstem to absorb some of the front end punishment and I did run a 54 x 11 for the down hill course also used that for training on the road and according to the Cateye speedo I clocked 90 km/h which is about 55 mph down a long downhill road up in Canberra (where I lived at the time) and that was on dirt tyres and at the bottom there were a few curves .... it got real scary real quick:eek:

If they're poppin tyres from the heat they be runnin tubulars which are glue on tyres. In long mountain descents, The braking heats up the glue n they roll off the rim. Google tubular tyres
