How to clean burned material of the exhaust headers?

Use a copper coin as a scraper (make sure it is solid not plated). Test on a hidden part first to gauge how hard you can press, but to remove plastic residue very little pressure is needed. Then polish with metal polish as normal.

I'm going to use a penny and 0000 steel wool, first on cold exhaust if no result I'll turn the engine on to heat it up!
Please use a bit of WD40 or equivalent on the 000 steel wool pad to avoid any scratch on your pipe. Make a try on a similar par of metal before trying on your exhaust.

Try the copper coin first, it works every time on cold exhaust, you don't need WD. I would never use steel wool it will scratch even if you can't see the scratches.

Ice and a nylon scarper for rubber on chrome pipes, not ice chips thrown at it a big chunk of ice and work it
