How to clean burned material of the exhaust headers?

The pipes were hot and the microfiber melted like a grocery bag.

Never were that hot when I use them.

As long as we're on this subject make sure any rag you touch a hot pipe with is 100% cotton. Accidentally went to wipe off something off and grabbed a microfiber rag. Not a good result.

I use a compound called Blue Job. It gets the hardened mess off and leaves no marks. Available on e bay.

Same here. So now my OCD remembers to wait till bike cools off before wiping off a small smudge so I don't end up with a bigger job.
