How fast have you ridden your Rocket III?

I have a heads up speed display in my helmet that uses tire diameter and revolutions to measure actual road speed. I've also cross calibrated it to actual GPS speed.

I've seen 164 MPH... and I ran out of straight pavement, not RPM. I'm confident she'll go 170+ MPH at Maxton, as I've made several changes since (exhaust cam and cam timing). IMO, lay down riding position (rear-rear sets and dropped handle bars) with frame mounted race fairing needed to break 160... fly screens and handle bar fairings need not apply. Also, don't go there without a steering damper.

Ok . . maybe 130 just once. I had to slow down though because of the woman beating on my back yelling SLOW DOWN!!!

That's called the hand brake, Boog.

I've seen a corrected speedo 140 a couple of times, but I prefer to go through some twistys to straight line speed. I have slowed down in the last six months after watching my best friend get plowed by a car right in front of my eyes. Call me a wuss if you want.

Only Once

135 MPH tuneboy corrected speedo...bike got a little light and started to move around some...I chickened out...it had more.:)

When my wife on her trike caught up with me...I decided by the look on her face...I had just made the **** list. She didn't think that kind of speed was very funny especially when i quipped that "she may inherit early...this thing really runs great!":D..SB.

All I can think about is that guy in England sitting in jail for posting on the internet how fast his was going. Yeah, the dumbass posted an actual video of it. 12 weeks in jail and no driving for 2 years.

I drive the posted speed limit, fellas.

I think if any of us only drove the posted speed limit, we would be riding one of these Kymco 250s. They actually pull pretty good, even two up with both my wife and I onboard.. )

I've had mine just shy of 140 inidicated a few times.. I hit 100 or so quite often though, and usually cruise around 80. I will say I alway go the posted speed limit in town or on base (I work on an Air Force base).

130 twice

Once on a newly paved 2 lane road near Marquette Kansas in the Flint Hills. It was straight, clean of debris and deserted so I had to try it.

Also on the Kansas Turnpike with new paved, clean asphalt and no vehicles on my side of the straight away.

Probably that will be the end of it.
