Would you consider having a Norton 961 in your garage?

I looked for one these at the Mecum Auction a year so ago and couldn't find one which is pretty unusual considering they had about 1700 motorcycles there.
Looks as though a number of them are finding their way back across the pond to the UK.
I can see in just one online classified sale site about six of them, although very few of those appear to be complete or fully original.

There will probably be a lot of fakes about as well - Commandos dressed up to look like Rangers. Just as there are fake Gold Stars.

The Ranger had a Matchless frame specific to that model designed for off-road use which returned the engine to a more upright position from it's forward canted mounting in the Commando. A quick search reveals those frames are now completely extinct. None are available, so if it has a canted engine it isn't a Ranger.
The Ranger also had a three quarter seat and twin clocks and, I believe, longer forks and shocks and American style bars.
I'd want to do a lot of research to make sure it was genuine before putting my money down on one.

Please buy it to save me from spending more money I haven't got...

Yes!!! I WILL buy that bike :D !!!!!

Just send me the money in used notes and inside a brown paper wrapper......no one will know about the transaction....I won't tell a soul. 😇

...er......Did you all hear that ??!!!! No?...........Excellent 😁

🤔 (Where was I ?.....oh, yes....)

And I will enjoy owning and riding it so that you won't have to live with any guilt.

I am LITERALLY, that kind.......no...no....REALLY ! 😬

The pleasure will be all mine :p
