We were in Bryson City N.C. and Josey was going to put gas in his bike.
He couldnt find the gas tank Key.
He thought he left it back at the motel....
Now I thought that was funny enough..........but.............
I asked him "dont you use the same key to take your seat off with"
Which he had just done before we left the motel to put the passenger air hawk seat on...
He walked around the back of the bike and guess what he found on the other side???????
His key........still in the place he left it.....
LMAO.........Now that was funny I dont care who ya are.......

When you are as forgetful as I am I would feel compelled to get matching locks or spare key. Just for reference has anyone had any luck getting keys made or will triumph sell replacement tumblers?

I was going to ask the obvious question of why he didn't just use the key he started the bike with  but I presume he's had something changed; hence 2 keys. I've done it though. Came out expecting to see the key in the ignition and started ranting about how one of the bloody kids must have taken it - until I saw it in the seat lock. Josey's just a few months older than me so I can excuse it. ;)

That's strange. My key does three jobs..... 1) starts the bike, 2) unlocks the gas tank, 3) unlocks the seat to remove it. Maybe Joesy will fill us in later and not his gas tank. lol

Josey has a keyless remote start. He disabled the key start switch.

That's right Nolton; I remember the thread now.
I guess one of the advantages of not going keyess is that you can't ride to the service station without your tank key.

When I got my bike they gave me a small key that I keep in my wallet. I have used is when I dont want to go back into the house just to move the bike for a wash.
If I could get one made I would prob. hide it on the bike.
I have lost my key before though. Found it about 45 min. later the same place Josey found his. Havent told that one before.
