Well this happened to me - it was the roll pin on the end of the indicator link shaft - the inside end. The roll pin snapped off inside the actuator. Quote to fix - 40hrs labour, $4860. Being as stuborn as I am I figured there has to be an alternative. Took me 8 hours of toiling - unshackled the frame from the engine and lifted the rear 2 inches so I could get the shaft in (The Triumph Tech removed it with a hammer, scratching the frame and bending the shaft, it won't come out past the frame). Using a 315mm long 3mm drill bit, a very strong magnet attached I drilled out the old pin very slowly - magnet caught all of the debris. Re-inserted a new one and put it all back together. Orthodox? No, did it work? Absolutely. A good endoscope helps as well.
