No headlights, no start

Forgot to mention headlight dipped beam comes on when I put parking lights on however not when i turn to start

i am guessing that you have enough left in the battery to work some small lights but not enough to work the main lights which is on when ignition is on
that is why a say to use volt meter to check.

Hi guys thank for all replying just on bike now, could anyone tell me if the solenoid is inside the starter, there's 12v showing going to the starter, would a bad solenoid or starter cause headlights to come on, thanks

12v just isn't enough to start a Rocket, as previously said, sounds like the battery isn't man enough. It takes a LOT to start a Rocket and the battery needs to be in tip-top shape as well as fully charged !

Try jump-starting it off a car first. If that works - there you go !
