Gents,
I drive a 2010 Roadster. On the way to work this morning, my check engine light came on and I noticed my Gear indicator remains in first regardless of what gear I am in (other than neutral). The bike appears to run normal, and there isn't any difficulty in shifting gears. I checked the oil and it is good. I just checked the Radiator Fluid over the weekend, and it was also good. Since I am stuck at work all day, I was hoping someone out there might know what is going on here, or have had a similar issue.

I do have access to Tuneecu at home. Will this read engine fault codes?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a GIPro? If so, is it the gear indicator on the bike or the GIPro indicator? I had a bad connection on my GIPro that caused the exact symptoms.

No GIPro. I am thinking that it may be the Gear Indicator Sensor, but I will have to do some research to find out where it is. However, I do not know if this would trip an engine light.

It may trip an engine as the gear sensor does a couple of the things with the engine management system.
It's not just an indicator for the rider the EMS does a lot of calculations for fuel , ABS etc

Just next to where the shaft comes out two 8 mm bolts Richard has had some issue with his some time back remember exactly what it was under but try a search you might his post about cleaning it he found water and crap had dirtied it
That is Richard aka CanberraR3

I will post some pictures when I get home of the gear position sensor so you can cleanit . If its dirty it might just throw a code, this will be faster then using the search tab on this site unless you have a life time.
