welcome from arizona
an r3 seems to make the problems go away while ridding.
and a permanent grin is pretty good to.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I think we will like it a lot and it would work out better than a Yamaha warrior. my wife things it is comfortable. I really wanted to get the newer 11 but I will be happy with the 05 also. then I cam do custom work to the 05 to make it look like want I want it too

Welcome from Australia Shane @KnightRider ......
Sorry to hear about your wife:(
The R3's older then 2010 will be known as standards (like the 2004 your looking at) and the later ones are Roadsters and have foot controls closer to the rider and ABS Braking. Also the bikes made after 2008 have upgraded transmissions etc. Which ever way you go you and your wife will love it. Also something to consider - IF the headlight look a little dull its due to the ignition wiring not being up to scratch and your ignition switch may be about to FAIL - costing $100's and possibly stranding you in the middle of wherever....

Thank you I am looking at an 05, it looks like the 11 may be back on the table thought. I think that is the way we will go because it has the back rest with armrests for her. it also has a windshield. her comfort is primary I can ride anything. form what I understand the newer ones do not have that wiring issue>?

Well, I can not get the newer 2011 I was looking at so if I get a R3 then it looks like the 05 is my option.

Get that 05!
You could not spend a mere $4900 better. Many riders on this forum have 05/06’s
I paid $5900 for mine 3 years ago with 24,000 miles on it. Worth every penny. You can add any upgrades you can think of to her.

the upgrades will cost much, compared to having them already on the bike ready to go. to get a windshield, hit back sissy bar, back pad, windshield mount, and travel bags I would be looking at around 2k to $2500. where the 11 is already set up and also are not known for the possible gear box issues. this is the 11 I am trying for

Ya, I posted that after only reading your page 3 post saying the 11 was off the table. Either way you won’t regret getting an R3. My wife rides back of my 05 with no issues
