Headlight position/parking light

Did you take the park bulbs out??.if you did then put them back into the connectors they came out of and put the whole deal back in...problem will stop...believe me.

I'm assuming you're refering to the single position/park light bulb? Initially I did remove it. The bulb/socket was attached with a connector so it was easy to remove the 4" or so of bulb and wire. After the first issue I had with the led headlight popping fuses I re-connected the bulb and socket and nicely taped the bulb to the top of the headlight bucket to keep it out of the way. However the led headlight started popping fuses again about 10 days later. So I am assuming the headlight is defective as I'm not sure what else it could be.

There have been a few of us, me included, who have blown fuses for the tail light and headlights thru removing the park bulbs when we install the led headlights. The fact is that in some of the led headlights there is no place for the park lights so we remove the bulb and shove the wiring into the back of the headlight cavity somewhere...the wedge type fitting shorts out on itself and "Pop" goes the fuse. Either put the bulb back in to stop this or cut the wires back. It does however leave an option to run "something else" off the wires and use the park position on your ignition to "liven" it up....maybe a nice led sign saying "DONT F.....G TOUCH THE BIKE!!"...be quite good at night don't you think?

Led RUNNING light for example. Most wont draw as much as a side/parking/position-light bulb.

Can anyone clarify this ? 2016 R3T Headlight bulb is H4 and spot/aux lightbulbs are H3 ? I want to order replacement LED bulbs.

The headlight will not be an issue - but beware that LED "bulbs" can be very reflector/lens sensitive. Some "bulbs" will work fine in one and TERRIBLY in another. I have a plethora of experience. If it were me I would look for a decent 7" LED unit like the Truck-Lite Phase7. Or something Chinese if cash is tight.

Somebody wit a "T" needs to chime in - but Triumph has a tendency to fit their AUX lights with NON STANDARD wiring pigtails and connectors. On the Standards - whilst the lamp was made to take an H3 bulb they came with a non plug and play standard wiring. Cut and Solder time.

My take is - if your going to fit LED do it right. If you're going to have to modify wiring. Get some decent 4.5" LED aux lights and drop em in.

BUT - If you do a LOT of night work. Save up a lot of pennies and get Adaptives.
If not much night then ime Reflective type LED units like the Truck-Lite are more visible to other road users. AND generally cheaper.
I have a Truck-Lite on an old Moto Guzzi - Since fitting I get a LOT more "space".

Thanks Barbagris.... I agree about the Truk-Lites . My son just put the in his Harley and here in Ontario Canada it cost about $600 for the headlight and spots. Either way I am doing some mods (not a problem) because nothing aftermarket is plug and play with Triumph. I will not be buying any cheap off shore bulbs from E Bay.....I have done some research and these seem to be the best on the market.
