Harley 120R Verse Rocket X

I think what happens with the Harley riders is that they ride with Harley riders. In my area 80% of the bikes are Harley. The guy's I ride with all have Harley's. So in their mindset, if they increase their bike's power, they will be faster than everyone else they ride with. Other bikes don't exist because all they know is Harley. So once they are trapped in that narrow minded thinking, an average Harley rider doesn't even know a Rocket exists let alone can smoke them at will. I run across it all the time. I ride middle to end of the pack every time, I never show off or pass them. When I was asked about this all I said was "I know I'm the big dog, no need to prove it." Not one of my buddies has ever raced me. On the flip side there seems to be no end of ****ty old Camero's and Mustangs to humiliate.

The 2005 Screaming Eagle V-rod was a totally different motorcycle than the standard V-Rod, No comparison.
I had the secondary butterfly's removed, K&N Filter, cat delete pipe installed and stock pipes partly gutted running a 20055 tune if I remember correctly on my Rocket III

142 GPS max speed over a 4 mile WOT run.....It just stopped pulling in just over 1 1/2 miles......Did not cut out or go to missing...Just laid over. That was on Us 64 east toward Wilson NC.

On the way back I rode the V-Rod.......157 MPH GPS......I left my Rocket 1/2 mile back. That was 3rd gear and up....

I have not ran it WOT since I put on the Triple K&Ns Jardines and Wayne's special tune

Art did you swap bikes and run them. 5 bike length can be in the rider.

My son's SE-V-Rod made 119 hp. stock, after he changed the pipes added a PC-5 and had Cycle Solutions do the tune on it was at 127+ hp.

My old Rocket feels like it would love to have one more gear. But like I said earlier I have not ran it WOT in high gear since it had the rpm bumped up to 9000. You can thank Scott for talking me into that....LOL

WELL my buddy is a drag racer and only 120 lbs so I would think he would be faster than me at 210 lbs

Art that is awesome....Glad you lost the weight......so how tall are you?? That makes a difference too

I was thinking....Yes it hurt
When you ran the bike on the salt with Jason, Don't you think a heaver rider could have gotten more speed out of the bike.
On damp salt traction is almost impossible to get a good grip on. From the picture of Jason on the bike you can see just how damp it was. Salt packed up on the front of the engine and the rad.
A heaver rider could move his weight toward the back of the bike....and yes I know it is a balance ....to far back and you lose the front end..........Not good.....and to far forward, wheel spin............if you have the HP.....Which I know Carpenter has.

There are a very few times that being a fat boy has some advantage.............LMAO

6'1 and 242 here......

I don't know why anyone would ride their bikes on the salt flats...once that salt gets on the bike, it's impossible to get it ALL off....it seeps into every little nook and cranny and the corrosion begins...
