I bought the R I have in 2022 for 17,500 with 176 miles on it. Was ok for awhile. Need more comfort now. I see you mention the seat to. I have a corbine seat on mine. What's you opinion with that set up

I thought I'd have to get a Corbin for mine at first. The pillion pad on the stock (GT) seat was digging into my back. But Imust have got used to it because it feels perfectly comfortable now.
I think when I first got the GT I was comparing it to my Harley which I sold to buy the Rocket as the low seat riding position played hell with a lower back injury. The Harley had a Tallboy seat fitted which was very roomy. I guess at first I felt a bit restricted on the GT after the Harley but now I've adjusted to it.

I believe the Corbin is a little thicker than the GT seat and sits you slightly higher. That's a good thing for me as the less bend I have in my hips the better.
Anyone wanting to fit a GT seat to an R should maybe bear in mind that with the mid-mounted pegs they will have less leg room

That's true, but having tested out both seats on my bike, I find the GT much more comfortable, and i'm quite tall at 6' 3".
I guess that we are all built a bit differently to each other, so we have to try these things out for our own preferences.

You are also spot on regarding how the stock seats can dig in at the back and cause discomfort over a longer journey. Perhaps the Corbin is better in all aspects??

It will be interesting to see how my seat feels when I wheel the bike out again in the spring. When I first got it I was convinced a Corbin would be essential. By the autumn I'd forgotten all about it.

Got my first ride this year last weekend. Felt really comfortable. No back digging discernable. I'll be leaving the seat stock on mine.

Yes, last Saturday was amazing weather here.
Very unusually warm and sunny for this time of year. Pleasantly warm into the evening too.
There were loads of bikes out. I can hear them all from my garden. It was all happening out there last weekend, for sure.
Unfortunately for me, I had jobs to do, so no biking, but to be honest, there's still loads of salt and tractor crud on all the roads around my place, so i'm not all that keen to mess the bike up only to then spend a longer time cleaning an drying it.
Felt positive though.....the warm dry weather......for one and a half days....😎
We've had frost the last few nights, and the days have been bitter due to a very cold wind, but they haven't been out salting. At least, not yet, anyway, so that's kinda good.

Roads were surprisingly clean here. I avoid the moorland roads over the North Pennines at that this time of year because that's where they go mad with the salt. There were lots of bikes going past my house heading up over the fells kicking up white dust behnd them. I headed north into Northumberland and the borders and it was clean up there.
I did briefly consider wearing my bulky winter gloves but the sun was so warm I thought sod it and put on my short summer ones. With the heated grips on low it was just fine. This is the first bike I've had with heated grips and I'm a convert.
Next week forecast to sunny but cold so I'm expecting the gritters out again. But hopefully it'll be the last blast before spring proper.

At 6'2" with a GT with mid controls, GT seat, with pullback risers makes for a very comfy ride. The risers made a huge difference in shoulder pain, bringing the bars back and up.

That sounds very similar to my set up and at a very comparable height, it's confirmation to me that it's probably the best ergonomically, out of all the various permutations.

I have the GT bars which I think work very well, but i'm interested in your handle bar set up.....Am I right in thinking that you're using the R bars but with some risers ?
If so, i'm interested to learn more....Like, what risers have you used...and...what wiring/cable set up have you used?
