True, but the GT seat is a lot more comfy

I bought the R I have in 2022 for 17,500 with 176 miles on it. Was ok for awhile. Need more comfort now. I see you mention the seat to. I have a corbine seat on mine. What's you opinion with that set up

I thought I'd have to get a Corbin for mine at first. The pillion pad on the stock (GT) seat was digging into my back. But Imust have got used to it because it feels perfectly comfortable now.
I think when I first got the GT I was comparing it to my Harley which I sold to buy the Rocket as the low seat riding position played hell with a lower back injury. The Harley had a Tallboy seat fitted which was very roomy. I guess at first I felt a bit restricted on the GT after the Harley but now I've adjusted to it.

I believe the Corbin is a little thicker than the GT seat and sits you slightly higher. That's a good thing for me as the less bend I have in my hips the better.
Anyone wanting to fit a GT seat to an R should maybe bear in mind that with the mid-mounted pegs they will have less leg room

That's true, but having tested out both seats on my bike, I find the GT much more comfortable, and i'm quite tall at 6' 3".
I guess that we are all built a bit differently to each other, so we have to try these things out for our own preferences.

You are also spot on regarding how the stock seats can dig in at the back and cause discomfort over a longer journey. Perhaps the Corbin is better in all aspects??

It will be interesting to see how my seat feels when I wheel the bike out again in the spring. When I first got it I was convinced a Corbin would be essential. By the autumn I'd forgotten all about it.
