GI Pro Gear Indicator

That mount looks good, britman. Mind sharing with us how you fabricated it?

Phil,

Since I am procrastinating on going out to start shoveling 10 inches + of that white evil white crap out of my driveway, no problem. The clamp is part number 501-300 from J&P Cycles at a cost of $19.99. It is made for the Formotion Clock series as mount. (I am thinking or ordering the clock for the other side of the speedo to balance out the look.) I had an old piece of approximately 1/4'" aluminum stock left over from a license plate bracket project. You can pick up a piece at True Value or any good hardware store. I cut the aluminum to fit the Gi Pro and mounted it to the bracket with a flat head screw after deeping the hole with an oversize drill bit to set the screw head flush. I used a nylon tap nut on the back to keep it secure. A shot of the bracket is attached.

Glad to help you out, britman (keeping you from shoveling the white shyte for awhile:p).

Thanks for the detailed write-up. I believe that T Evans used the same mount, but minus the backing plate. Looks great!

Phil,

Thanks again for all of your effort setting up the group buy for the Gi Pro. When the weather breaks I can't wait to experience that Speed Grin" everyone is talking about. The only thing I can so far is that when I fire her up in the garage the throttle response sure feels quicker. I am going to do a 12 minute tune tomorrow after work and wait for the roads to clear. She is set on the #3 setting and all of the gears are dialed in. Let the games begin.

Impressed

It's 38 degrees, there is at least an inch of salt on the roads and ice here and there, but I couldn't wait any longer to test the Gi Pro. I only went to the local 7-11 for fuel, but what a world of difference. At first the gear position was off, but it seemed to fall into sequence after a few minutes and all was right with the world. Crisp throttle response and she feels a hell of allot more feisty. Tonight was not the time to really see what she could do. There reasons as to why I have lived to age 60. It will have to way until after the additional foot of snow they are calling for again this weekend. Will this friggin winter ever end?

Fuhgettaboudit, George!:)

BTW, could you send me a link for where you got those neat softbags for your R3?

Phil,
Do you know when the last GIPros will ship? I ordered mine mid january. Guess I could email the supplier :).

Thanks

I spoke to our vendor, Josh, owner of Ball Z Motosports, yesterday and he's chafing at the bit, too!

All orders placed after 1/4/10 were held and bundled into a final order that he placed on 1/21/10. The item is made in Hungary and must go from there to the USA master distributor in Idaho (who doesn't keep an onhand inventory of this item)and then they will go to Josh in Missouri for final shipping to us. My best guess is that we are within a week of seeing our GI Pros, but that is just an educated guess.

Healtech (the owner firm) has a really cockamamie distribution scheme,as you may have surmised from the preceding description.
Patience! I am in the same baat with you and about 18 others.

I suppose if there was a time of the year to be waiting on bike parts, this would be it.

:D

Kelly, I'm ordering the dresser bars, pegs and mounts in the next day or so. $326 bucks TYD! Whaddya' think?
