GI Pro Gear Indicator

Since installing my GIpro I have had a constant problem with the gear indicator displaying the correct gear. I have gone through the auto learning procedure numerous times and the meter is fine for a couple of rides, then starts to go haywire again, usually being a gear or two off from 2nd through 5th. The timing retard function has never been an issue staying in the number function selected. I sent the company an email concerning the problem and received an immediate response on how to return the unit to the company base in Hungary. A replacement unit is already en route. I am more than pleased with the customer service. They are going to test the returned unit for defects and advise me of the results. Hopefully it is just glitch in this one unit and not a problem with my bike.
I've had nothing but excellent experiences with their customer service, good people.
When you install the replacement, double check the connections to the GPS on the bike. That is a possible location for resistance problems and changing values are what changes the display. Just in case the new part doesn't fix it (I'm sure it will), you can check the ohms with a meter at the plug while changing gears by hand. If they jump around erratically while still in the same gear, or has different values each time you put it back into the same gear .... the switch could be worn/loose inside.

This is an excellent product and I'm considering putting one on my VTX custom as well. So far, five months into use of this upgrade and no discernible problems to note.;)

Fitted the Gipro (blue) today took about 11/2 hours fitted it between the clocks as hellfire did a nice fit. Worked out of the box went for a test run and found out I have only 5 gears. First bike I have had with a gear indication. I think I will like it.

That is the most fun little gadget I have added to the bike, makes all the difference don't it.
Try out the settings and see what works best for you. Read what they are, because they don't make sense without knowing what each one does.
