GI Pro Gear Indicator

Installed my GI Pro last night. It really makes a difference in acceleration.
I have an '08 R3T and I notice a "surging", almost like a miss, when riding at slower speeds/partial throttle.
I had it on setting 3. I just changed it to setting 4 and it feels a little better.
Anyone else notice this?
I doubt it had anything to do with installing the GiPro, it doesn't affect anything but the timing, and that doesn't cause a surge. Just so you know ... setting 4 puts 1st gear back to stock specs. It's very possible you could be having TPS problems, you have'nt had reason to disturb it have you? I think you may want to run it through the 12min tune and reset everything just to be sure.

Gipro

Hi Just ordered the GIPRO-01 for my 2008 Triumph touring. I had the dealer install a K&N air filter with the after market Triumph mufflers. I assume that a remap was done. Is there a slight increase in fuel economy due to the fact that the ignition is now working properly? Would someone please tell me what this 12 minute tune is. :)

If the dealer installed the TOR's tune it didn't help your cause any. I found out the hard way, actually felt a decrease in power after the TOR's program was loaded into the ECM. All it does is hold the secondaries closed more to richen the mix. Thats like holding you hand over the intake (another good reason to just take them out). You should probably look back at a number of threads covering the issues. I'd start by entering those topics into the search and start reading up on them. You have alot of ground to cover.

Thanks all for your thoughts/advice. It is appreciated.
It ran fine prior to the install. Haven't messed with the TSP. I believe it was replaced under one of the recalls last year.
I was thinking that I needed to run the 12 min. tune and plan on doing that when it stops raining.

I did the 12 min. tune this morning. It got rid of most of the "surging" issue. It still does it a little, but it's much better.

It's Done

Doing the blizzard today I installed my GiPro. Unfortunately it will be awhile before I get to try it out. We have about 8" of snow on ground and it is still coming down. The handlebar mount worked out great after making a backing plate out of aluminum. I believe I will have to do the Auto Learning Procedure to dial the gears in correctly. Out of curiosity I was wondering if anyone's system was set up for the five speed Rocket directly out of the box, or did everyone have to re-program the correct gears for the indicator. I can't wait to see the difference, but since my Dark Side is not a snow tire, I will just have to wait until the first snow plows come through at least.

Looks great with your Red Rocket! Mine was going from 2nd to 4th before I went through the learn process. I think it said it works out of the box with Kawasakis. Sorry about the snow! Up in the North, we got nothing! :p

Thats a good looking mount. We are up to out ankles in the white **** now too. Thanks for sending it up to us. :p
Mine worked right out of the box, I noticed the programing steps several days later and did it just for grins and screwed it up on the 1st try.
I noticed your handlebar mount where the gauges bolt on are different than mine, my idea of putting it between the gauges wouldn't even work on yours.
