Front wheel removal

Is the front wheel as easy to get off and back on as the manual reads? Any "look out for this or that"? I've had the rear wheel off a few times with no problems. Thanks.

The front wheel is as easy or easier than the rear wheel. Just remove the brake calipers (the rim won't pass through if you don't. Then loosen the pinch bolts. Then take out the axle. The biggest problem you will have is getting a 19MM hex socket for the axle bolt. There are many threads here on substitute tools for removing the axle bolt.

19mm hex head bolt with a pair of nuts (yeah, i said a pair of nuts) will work. Throw them in the saddlebag afterwards in case you ever need them.

Thanks for the input! I found a dealer (not Triumph) that will change the tires out, even if I have the gall to buy them cheaper on line. If my dealer did front and back with labor for taking the wheels off it'd be over $700

A 3/4 inch bolt and two 3/4 inch nuts will do the job of the 19mm allen wrench

I wish I could say it was my idea but I stole if from someone on here. From whomever I stole this from I do not mean to take any credit, but to just spread the knowledge.
I use a spark plug socket 3/8" drive. I pulled the rubber insulator out of the socket. I put the hex end (back end) in the axle nut. And put a short 3/8" drive extension through the socket from the wrong end. Works great!

This is the same method i used to take my front wheel off to change the tire. Like said before. Works great and i didn't have to spend any money. Double great!

Here is what I use. Mac tools sells it. Just use a box end wrench not the 3/8 drive.Link Removed
