I'm not sure how you'd compress everything back with the forks still mounted. In any case, you'd probably still need to jack up the bike and remove the front tyre, at which point the forks just slid out after a quick loosening of the brackets. But...I'm sure someone on here knows a way...

You can't change the springs on the bike you have to take them apart,I compressed and removed then refitted the standard springs on my own with the two tools and I mentioned earlier ,with the help of a broom handle in a vice with a piece of wire hooked to it to hold the damper rod up acting as a third hand but wether I could have done it with the progressive springs I don't know as I had my misses give me a hand that time.
