First few kilometers

So finally got my Rocket 3 GT Storm on Friday. Had daylight only to drive directly to gas station and home, 3 kilometers. On Saturday went for little ride. Have to say the bike is amazing and seems also raise some attention. After first 20 kilometers, check engine light lit up. It was because gas meter was not working correctly. After 120 kilometers it suddenly started to work but the engine light is still there so will be visiting service later today.

Have to take a day off this week, go for little trip and get those break in kilometers in so they will install rest of the accessories in the first maintenance.

Did a 2 day trip Madrid - Jaen - Madrid. Already have 950 km so first maintenance is next Monday. Gas meter acted up once again but it started to register full tank correctly after 3 stops to gas station. I totally understand after that trip the saying "It passes everything but gas station".

Now it seems to work correctly. First few times it did light up check engine. Pretty sure problem solved itself. Will have first service on Monday and let's see.

Mine's the same. It usually takes a couple of hundred yards of riding after a fill up before the gauge shifts to full. Also, I once parked up with the gauge showing, correctly, two bars of fuel remaining. When got back on it and took the bike off the sidestand the two bars had gone, the fuel light was on and it said zero miles left. I knew there was fuel in it. I could hear it. I made to the nearest filling station a mile or so away, filled up and the gauge went up to full, as usual after rolling a couple of hundred yards. Seems to be a quirk of these bikes that the gauge takes time to react. But it otherwise seems accurate and consistent. I've certainly had worse. My old KTM 1290 Superduke was wildly erratic. I set off one day with the gauge saying I had 20 miles remaining with a fuel station five miles away. OK, should make that no bother. Within a couple of miles it shot up to 30 remaining, then dropped to ten and another couple of miles on it ran out altogether and I had to walk the last half mile to the filling station and buy gallon of gas and an plastic can I didn't need to carry it in (which I had to hide in a hedge and pick up later in the car...)..

With my 65 years of mechanic and electrical experience I have gas gauge problem figured out.
So Triumph has learned to slow down the electrical whatchamacallit
So that they slowly start up and don't knock a hole in the wire that let's the smoke out into the gas tank which makes the injectors run lean and so much smoke will becoming out of the epa system
Anyway you get the idea
