FINDING IT A BIT STRANGE

I haven't had any problems doing long distance on the RIII, but then again 1,300 miles in 24 hours is my longest trip. Maybe I should get a F6B so I can do some real riding.

One of my riding buddies has a Honda FB6 and he loves it ,it handles great for a big touring bike ,nice sound system great smooth motor ,but to me is too much like a jet ski ,for me if I wanted a long distance touring bike other than the R3T it would be something like a Yamaha FJR1300 I have seen a few of these with over 16000Ks on the clock and no ,but at the moment the R3T suits my needs ,I still like big Harleys but they are just not what I want to ride long distances.

Over the last two yrs I've been to through Co, Az, NV, and UT on my R3. Through pouring down rain and 115 degree weather.
My only complaint whatsoever would be the seat. And perhaps boredom as the miles drone by.
I haven't taken my Indian on any long trips yet, but once I do it will be my 1st trip on a "full dresser"

I'm kinda curious if I'm even going to notice a big difference at all. Perhaps the Bluetooth might make a difference I got pretty tired of my own singing while riding the R3

I really enjoyed my Goldwing’s but to me there kind of like a Glock pistol. Very well engineered, extremely reliable, not much soul and not much to look at.

That’s why I’m going to give the Rocket a third chance.

I kinda like the more naked look. I added the tour pack so I could fit my briefcase and laptop for work,cheap throttle lock to stretch my hand when it's tired. The seat is a whole other matter,which canecorso is addressing as we speak. I sat on his Roadster, I can see why the larger lads are trying to stretch out the pegs,I felt cramped compared to the R3T. I bought the uclear communication system for my wife and myself,I love the Bluetooth ear buds, so a batwing almost seems like an expense I may no longer consider.

I love motorcycles. I am different than most and my idea of comfort may not be on any one else's scale. If I ride 10 straight hours and still feel like riding to dinner afterwards, then that is a good touring machine in my book. Brahma is a good touring bike on my scale.
Any of the big Harleys with their tour packs seem like they too are good touring machines and with the benefit of extra's like standard cruise control and a top box are great. If someone needs that, then you're set.
When I first joined the forum after buying the R3T, I mentioned a list of upgrades I wanted to make and cruise was one of them. Well, 37K miles later I still haven't added it. Nor have I added the top box either. I guess in the long run, the mods I made were small like adding engine guard chaps, HippoHands for winter and a Beadrider for summer. I find I can load everything I need on the Rocket for a week long trip with my three youngest sons to the point they just carried a small backpack on the sport bikes. A four man tent, several sleeping bags, my clothes and other camping gear fit nicely on the bike.
My next bike will most likely be a Ural Gear Up or Patrol, I hear it can be an outstanding touring bike too...
