My last Avon lasting 4k miles finally pushed me over the edge and I fitted a General Altimax to my R3T :D Took it out for a short test ride and have to say it does feel different but not going to comment further until I've got a couple hundred miles on her.

Any advice on tyre pressures for R3T specifically would be most welcome, most of my riding is two up and at the moment I have set it at 38psi but have no real idea where to start

I weight just under 240lbs and I run 30 one up or 32 two up I would suggest you start around 28 to 32 depending on your weight 38 is to much as a rule, Oh and welcome to the darkside once you work out the sweet psi you will find it very easy I am on my second 245 which they say is not as responsive ....I have not found this to be the case, you'll be amazed how quick you can flick it from side to side in the twisties:cool:

on mine and stb we run 34psi and cant really tell the difference rides smooth and to me no more counter steer than with a m/t

Here is a couple of pictures of the tire that I have put on this time it is a Hankook 225/55/16- 99V rating I have really been pleased with this one it is super quiet not half as noisy as the other tire lucked out I run 40 pounds but I am not a little boy at 320 pounds and when you put better half and trailer it feels real, comfortable

Ooops:eek:

Removed the rear wheel myself, really straightforward job apart from getting it off the ground. Our bike is REALLY arse heavy, so you've got to strap the front down to make the back come up. Took it to a local tyre shop that had the old one off and new on in about 15 mins. Went with traditional stick on weights rather than dyna beads.

Covered about 150 miles on it yesterday and will post my opinions later when I get a minute.
