Finally at last, Done!

I am more than a little impressed, here you have someone who can tune a bike how it should be. The little less torque down low is a) negligible and b) a result of the much bigger exhaust cam than I normally use , to help with the HP number using smaller headers. The stock springs are fine to 7000, with these cams. In over ten years, we've never had an issue. Good job Dr David
These guys know motors. One of the tuners rode the bike and said it accelerated like a sport bike. They did a great job on my Indian with 116 big bore kit also. David said he has never seen a gain like that with just a compression increase, cams and an exhaust. I’ll have find his Facebook post and copy it here, it is remarkable. They are really bragging about this bike.

Thanks Nev, Paul and other contributing advisors. I’m uber thrilled

Oh Lord I pray some Harley hot head blips throttle at a light looking for a race.:D

Oh my am I just evil?:ninja:

I rode the 50 miles home from the shop today and only had a few chances to let it feed a little. After a few minutes I was satisfied to just cruise along knowing I was a top the monster.

The owner of Custom Cycle Corner called me tonight and said my bike was done. I asked if this was an early April Fools joke and he assured me it was not.

To recap the build it was K&N triple filters, Lush cams and HC pistons with a Paul Bryant full system tune by a download from Neville and finished on a dyno with a PCV. The numbers are a very good to me at 166.35 tq and 203.3 hp at 7500 rpm.:):):):) I now have a real mountain road monster complete with Traxxion front cartridges and Race Tech GS3 rears. I’m ready for spring. Thanks to all here for your help and guidance as I could not have done this without you all.

I will pick it up this weekend come what ever weather.
Dr. D.---curious how much $$$$$ you invested in this recent work? would like to consider this on my 2006 classic.

As @Steel says,"You gotta pay to play" You can easily spend 5k on this kinda power, unless you do it yourself. Cams, air cleaners, pistons, exhaust, PCV or whatever, 100 bucks an hour. Start saving. Better do a clutch while your at it. Hows your tranny? Or are you still considering? Speed is a money pit and that bike is worth about 30k in my eyes. Money well spent. Hope Sandy doesn't read this

Just think if you sink that $5K into a Harley you're lucky to gain 20 hp. This added over 75 hp. Definitely more bang for the buck.

Nah Steel, ya got it all wrong :D it's lotsa fun :roll::roll:

On my Trident with a skinny 120 section rear tyre I used to brake hard and slide into corners, then power slide out.

When I got the Rocket I tried to do the same thing ... didn't work.
I hit the brake hard so as to set up a slide into the corner (like drift cars do) but too much rubber, I just stopped ! :banghead:
I had to let the brake off, go forward to the corner then proceed :D

You ride like a monster! :D

I did loose a little torque from 2000-3300 but after that it really is improved. Max hp is of course at the top rpm but if racing or running for a thrill it is there. Overall I’m very pleased. Here’s the sheet .

I know it's plain as day on the dyno sheet but I believe you're making more TQ than that.

Congrats!

I agree and it did cost and took quite a while waiting for the custom pats to come in from the other side of the world. I had to buy a pipe system, a clutch, cams and pistons, air cleaners and a PCV. I had to have it all tuned and put together with all the little things like gaskets and head bolts and a new GPS. I do not know the final accurate numbers and I'm not even going to look it up. I don't care the money is spent and gone, over and out. But after being asked to the question I am not afraid to guess at the costs. I'd say $6500 sounds pretty close.

That does not include the suspension front and rear. That was probably between 2.5 and 3.0 grand. I have nearly doubled the cost of this bike.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Is it worth it F-in A.:)

Oh she (Sandy) did ask about the costs of this last part and I did tell her the truth. I then proceeded to discuss with her that since i make all the money i will have all the say. I also stipulated that she is not my financial equal and does not have equal weight deciding on the the budget. I also said that she could voice her opinions but that might be at a cost and she should consider her words carefully. She did not take it well at first but I held my ground and it was over.

It did not help that were were going down to pick up another $700 pair of cowboy boots.:D:D:D

PS Hey guys it ain't like this lady lacks for anything. I just spent 5K to put a big bore 118 kit on her new Indian Chieftain Elite.
