Update to our plans to race Rocket 3 at Bonneville Speed Week 2024

Sounds like a great plan for this year’s run. Are you going to keep the forward pegs or switch to mid-mount? I didn’t catch it in the video if that is on the plan. I have a GT and still have the forward pegs. I have been a bit north of 100mph and don’t feel secure with the pegs being forward. Planning on mid-mount before getting into higher speed spirited riding due to the wind loading.

I didn't mention the pegs but obviously the "R" should be better for staying on the bike but more importantly the mid mounts let's the bike move underneath you better. I think the test ride might tell us if it is okay with the GT location.

I was wondering how you were going to do it with forward controls. When I had the forwards on my legs would try to lift around 125mph, even back all the way. The mids are solid at speed and the wind pushes your feet firmly into them instead of lifting them off the pegs. You'll see on a test ride.

It sucks they have to tear your motor down if you want a record. I'd probably just have to walk away from it. Even getting a Triumph tech's sponsor to reassemble one makes me cringe.

Keep us posted. Enjoy the videos.

The pegs on Rob's Rocket 3 last year were probably closer to where new Roadsters would be and worked to 164 mph. Obviously the forward pegs isn't ideal but we shall test them and see how I feel.
